Kevin Chaney

Kevin Chaney joined our firm with approximately eight years of documented law enforcement support experience with a Southern California Police Agency. Prior to such, Mr. Chaney worked for a multi-state corporation for 5 years as Network Systems Manager and the Telecommunications Manager, opting out of that for a career in law enforcement support. Prior to this, Mr. Chaney worked at Hughes Aircraft specializing in data conversion between the mainframe world and the newly emerging PC world. Altogether Kevin has worked in the computer industry for 20 years. He has often straddled the line getting certified on the large mainframe computer hardware and software, the PC computer hardware and software as well as the lines of communications and technologies that connect all of the devices.

Mr. Chaney has over 80 hours of specialized training in the areas of computer forensics and is a certified Encase examiner. He has over 200 hours of specialized training in hardware and software for the desktop environment and over 80 hours of specialized data communications training. During his tenure in law enforcement, he worked closely with the FBI, and other law enforcement agencies to gather evidence for the prosecution of crimes against persons, including fraud, identity theft, child abuse, and trafficking of child pornography.

Mr. Chaney is a graduate of the Encase Forensics Examiner School, having attained his EnCE in 2007. He has received specialized training from Hewlett Packard on the MPE and Unix operating systems as well as the specialized hardware used to run these operating systems. He is a member of the High Tech Crime Investigator Association (HTCIA), the Orange Country Technology Officers Group (OCTOG), and the International Association of Computer Investigative Specialists. Mr. Chaney donates his time to local churches to help educate parents about keeping their kids safe from the dangers of the internet.
